CBD Edible Gummies – A Delicious Way to Consume CBD!
Everyone has been chatting lots about the amazing benefits of CBD – it helps with stress, sleep and all those aches and pains – but what if you don’t like the taste of hemp or you don’t vape?! How are you still able to enjoy and get all the magical effects of this miracle plant extract? Well, my friends, I am here to help. I was the same way and so wanted to tell you all about the deliciousness and joys of CBD edibles specifically CBD edible gummies.
CBD edibles are the perfect format for taking CBD if you are looking to mask the underlying taste of the hemp which tends to be bitter and earthy in flavour. There are many different types of CBD edibles – from gummies to chocolate. One could argue that really any sweet treat or savoury snack could become a CBD edible by mixing in CBD as you make it. Whilst you would be right, the efficacy of the product will be impacted depending on what sort of hemp extract or CBD you use. As such, I think it is best to stick with the professionals who will have sourced the appropriate CBD that will work best within the edible. For example, by simply just mixing in CBD oil that you buy in a tincture into your ingredients won’t necessarily bind as well with your mixture. Instead, many of the CBD edibles that I have found to be most effective use CBD powder so that it dissolves into the mixture rather remaining separate in oil form. This also means the CBD spreads more evenly throughout the edible.
You may at first panic when you hear the term “edible” as you might associate it with what you’d find in the US. CBD edibles, in particular CBD edible gummies tend to be rather potent and I have heard many stories of a friend eating an edible and liking the taste so much they have a couple more bites and become so high they were unable to move for several hours. Well the good news is this does not happen with CBD edibles or any edible in the UK. This is because CBD is the non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis so it does not make you high. THC, which is the psychoactive compound found in cannabis is illegal in the UK and so all edibles should contain zero to trace amounts of THC in order to be compliant. It is also due to this regulation, that all CBD edibles are derived from hemp. Hemp contains much higher concentrations of CBD and negligible amounts of THC.
I personally prefer CBD edible gummies over other edibles as I have a sweet tooth and love a hard sweet or chew irrespective of whether it has CBD in it or not. I found that it was rather hit and miss with chocolate and so much of what I tried was dry and still tasted like hemp (basically cardboard!). CBD edible gummies on the other hand are usually fruit flavoured and so can completely drown out that underlying earthy taste. The selection of CBD edible gummies in the UK is still fairly limited, but has certainly improved recently as people are more attracted to CBD and wanting better, more tasty CBD products.
My favourite to date are from the brand called Paso CBD which I found in my local CBD shop, The Otherside. I love their CBD edible gummies in vegan – they are delicious, but sweet (which is ok for me or any other sweet toothed person!). They literally taste like a soft fruit pastel so definitely a good choice if you love your sweets! I went on their website and they don’t appear to sell these CBD edible gummies in vegan online so you’ll have to find a store that does. I also tried their non-vegan CBD gummies which were also very tasty but less sugary – ideal if you want something that tastes slightly more savoury!
